Overview
Document conversion on the GFI FaxMaker server is done by issuing the print
or printto
command onto the document. Microsoft Windows identifies the file type, and it tries to open and print the document with the associated default application that responds to the print
command to the FaxMaker printer.
This article describes the process to set associations for default applications.
Process
To set associations for applications, follow the steps mentioned below:
-
Open Control Panel.
-
Select Default Programs.
-
Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
-
Scroll down to find the file type and the command that Microsoft Windows is running when the
print
command is issued.
Validation
When a document is converted through the GFI FaxMaker, this application will load and print the document, returning it as a converted file to Microsoft Windows and GFI FaxMaker.
