Overview
This article provides the process for changing the number of DTMF/DID digits to be captured by FaxMaker when using DTMF/DID routing. It also provides steps for changing the DID route lengths and other configuration considerations.
Note: Please take care to specify a consistent number of digits across the different settings. If this is not done consistently, it will lead to routing issues.
Environment
Any FaxMaker installation.
Solution
To work properly, this change must be made in several places:
- From Programs, open the GFI FaxMaker Configuration
- Select Lines/Devices from the left and select properties on the right.
- From the box that pops up, select a line and select the Properties button.
- In the new box that pops up, select the Advanced tab.
- In the Routing box at the bottom, change the number of digits to capture.
- Select OK to close the line properties box and select OK again to closed the Lines and Devices Properties box. You will be prompted for a FaxMaker faxserver service restart that will be required to make the changes.
- Expand the Routing node on the left and select DTMF/DID.
- Select each route, then select Properties.
- Select the Options tab, change the digits and select OK.
- Select Lines/Devices from the left and select properties on the right.
Note: If using a Dialogic Brooktrout TR1034 digital fax board or SR140, verify the correct number of digits using the Faxes not Routing Properly When Using a Brooktrout Fax Device article.
Confirmation
After completing the steps above, the number or digits used for routing will be changed and inbound fax routing will be operating properly.
