Overview
The purpose of this article is to provide instructions for ensuring the SR140 is licensed and the FaxMaker license is configured correctly for using an SR140 when the lines are not initialized in the FaxMaker Monitor and the Brooktrout SR140 is being used. The information in this article can also be used to verify the SR140 licensing is set up correctly after any service changes.
Solution
There can be multiple reasons for the lines to be uninitialized in the FaxMaker Monitor. From Programs, open the FaxMaker Brooktrout Configuration GUI. This will give the driver version of FaxMaker and the Brooktrout drivers. If the SR140 is licensed correctly, then it should look like the screenshot below:
If your FaxMaker Brooktrout Configuration GUI looks like the above, please review the Brooktrout Boston Host Service Will Not Start Causing FaxMaker Error Initialization Failed: 23 article.
Scenario #1
The SR140 is not licensed.
- Check the FaxMaker Brooktrout Configuration GUI. This is located in Start > Programs > FaxMaker Brooktrout TR1034.
- At the bottom, you will see the SR140 is not licensed, as in the screenshot below:
-
You will need to license the SR140. In the article Installing and Configuring the Brooktrout SR140 FOIP Driver, under the Activating the License heading, you will find instructions for licensing the SR140. If you do not have an SR140 license, you will need to contact your reseller to acquire one.
Scenario #2
There is no usage license for the SR140:
- Check the FaxMaker Brooktrout Configuration GUI. This is located in Start > Programs > FaxMaker Brooktrout TR1034.
- At the bottom, you will see the SR140 is licensed but there is no SR140 usage license as in the screenshot below:
- This means that the SR140 is licensed but the FaxMaker license is not set for using an SR140.
- Open the FaxMaker Web Interface, from Programs.
- Select the gear from the top ribbon and select the licensing tab from the left.
- In the top section labeled license key, select edit.
- From here you can copy the license key.
- Send an email to customers@gfi.com requesting the FaxMaker Brooktrout SR140 flag to be set to true and include the Customer ID and the license key.
- The reply email will tell you the flag is set to true and give you the new license key which can be copied into the GFI FaxMaker configuration. The article Viewing and Applying Your FaxMaker License Key will provide instructions for adding the new key to your server.
