PROBLEM

GFI FaxMaker fails when sending faxes having more then 30 pages, using a Dialogic Brootkrout card. Only the first 30 pages will be sent and the transmission report will have the following error:

Handshaking failed : 54

ENVIRONMENT

• Microsoft Windows 2003
• Microsoft Windows 2008
• Dialogic  Brooktrout TR1034

SOLUTION

This maximum page value of 30 can be changed as follows:

1. Stop the GFI FaxMaker Server service and the GFI FaxMaker Message Transfer Agent service
2. From Start > Programs > GFI FaxMaker Dialogic Brooktrout TR1034 drivers open the Dialogic Brooktrout Configuration Tool
3. Click on BT Call Parameters (All boards)
4. Click on the Show Advanced > button
5. Change the value of Maximum Number of Pages: from 30 to 50
6. Press the Save button and close the Dialogic Brooktrout Configuration Tool
7. Start the services blocked in Step 1

This procedure increases the maximum number of pages to be transferred in one session to 50.

CAUSE

The Dialogic Brooktrout TR1034 card is configured not to allow more then 30 pages to be sent out in one fax transmission session.

• Dialogic no longer supports any SDK prior to 6.7.0 (Included with GFI FaxMaker 2014)
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is supported by GFI FaxMaker but IS NOT supported by Dialogic for SDK 6.7.0
