Overview
This article provides a list of information that you need to consider when creating a TextAPI response file.
Solution
Note: A TextAPI response file will only be sent when the original TextAPI file does not specify a sender name/address. If a sender is specified, an email transmission report will be sent to the sender and a TextAPI response file will not be sent.
After processing a TextAPI that does not have the sender specified (from
or fr
options in the second line), GFI FaxMaker creates a response file to indicate the fax transmission result.
- By default, the response file is created in the same folder from where the TextAPI was picked up. Alternatively, GFI FaxMaker can be configured to store all response files in one location.
For more information refer to Configuring TextAPI in the GFI FaxMaker Configuration. - The name of the response file should match the name of the TextAPI. The extension of the file depends on the transmission result:
*.ok
- indicates that the fax was transmitted successfully.*.err
- indicates that the fax could not be sent. Review the Description message on the error to help you with troubleshooting.
Here's a sample of a TextAPI response file whose content appears much like a standard transmission report.:
