Overview
Received faxes can be stored in a network shared folder. An email with a link to the saved fax is sent to the configured routers. This is achieved using the Network Share option in FaxMaker Routing. This article describes how to configure FaxMaker to store incoming faxes on a network share.
Solution
Setting up Network Share Routing
Specify the network share where routing rules with network sharing is enabled to store faxes.
- In GFI FaxMaker Configuration, right-click Routing and select Properties. The following window is displayed:
-
Select the Network Share tab.
-
Specify the network share path (for example,
\\MyServer\MyFaxes
). -
Click Apply and OK.
- When creating a routing rule to use this network share, select "Save Fax and send transmission report with link to Fax". If the share has not been set up in the FaxMaker configuration, steps 1 through 4, the Network Share dialog box will appear as soon as this option is selected in order to set up the share. A user will need to be specified as well for this option for assigning permissions.
Accessing the Received Faxes on the Share
When receiving a fax on a routing rule that uses this option, GFI FaxMaker creates a sub-folder in the share as follows:
<network share path configured>\yyyy_mm\dd\
Where:
<network share path configured>
= the shared folder where the received faxes are stored.yyyy
= year.mm
= month.dd
= day.
Confirmation
Send a test fax to a recipient with routing rules set up to store faxes to this network share and verify the fax is saved to the shared folder.
