Overview
This article provides a brief description of a Caller ID and a Remote ID in GFI FaxMaker.
Information
Things to note:
- For outbound faxing, the Caller ID of the sender is usually the sender fax number.
- The Caller ID is displayed when the call is placed and it rings on the remote side.
- Once the call is picked up by the remote party, the Remote ID of the sender will be transmitted during the negotiation phase.
- The transmitting subscriber identification (also known as the Remote ID) is a string (e.g. company name, fax number, etc.) that can be used to identify the sender (usually the fax machine) during the fax transmission.
- A user can assign an individual fax number or a combination of a company name and a fax number as the Remote ID.
- GFI FaxMaker allows the administrator to specify the Caller ID for each sender and the Remote ID for each line.
