This article provides the steps to determine if the attached fax modem supports voice mode.
Process

Open a HyperTerminal session on the machine.

Type the command
AT#CLS=?and press enter.
If the value 8 or 80 is returned by the attached modem, then voice mode is supported and therefore DTMF is supported.
