Answer
When using Fax-over-IP (FoIP) it is not possible to have GFI FaxMaker provide a telephone billing code with outbound faxes. The reason for this is due to the nature of FoIP. Ordinarily, a billing code is appended to the dial string (the fax number) after a pause. However, FoIP supplies the dial string - with any accompanying billing code suffix - as a single string as though the entire conglomeration was the telephone number. Also, "pauses" are not permitted with FoIP.The customer has a few options regarding the use of a telephone billing code:
- Remove the requirement for a billing code from calls originating from the fax server
- Have the PBX (or phone system, or gateway) supply a static billing code for all outbound faxes
- Switch to an analog fax board (and analog fax lines from the PBX) that allow a "pause" and a billing code to be appended to the dial string
