Overview
Occasionally when people change jobs or positions or when credentials have not been used in years and a server migration requires them, Etherfax credentials need to be recovered. This article provides information for resetting Etherfax account passwords.
Solution
The Etherfax credentials cannot be recovered, as they are not visible to Support for security purposes. The password can be reset and once reset, it can be sent to you.
Note: If the password is reset and the Etherfax account is functional on a different server, the password on the functional server will need to be updated as well.
- A GFI Support ticket will be required for the password reset. In the ticket, request for the FaxMaker Etherfax password to be reset.
- Once the password has been reset, the location for the Etherfax credentials is in the FaxMaker Configuration > Fax Services > select the Etherfax account > select properties.
- In the Etherfax account properties update the password in the password field.
- Select Validate Account, then select OK to have the new password ready for use.
