Information
Fax numbers that are used with your on-premise FaxMaker will fall into two categories: Numbers used with an on-premise fax device and numbers used with a fax service, such as Etherfax or FaxMaker Online.
Using an on-premise fax device
When using an on-premise fax device with FaxMaker, the fax number is managed by the customer. This could be through your call manager or PBX or even over IP to and ISP. For further information contact your IT or PBX administrators, or if required, your phone carrier (AT&T or Verizon, for example) can be contacted.
Using an online fax service
When on-premise FaxMaker is used in conjunction with EtherFAX or FaxMaker online as a fax service account, the fax numbers used are managed by either Etherfax or FaxMaker Online and the carriers associated with them. The fax number can be provided by GFI for use with the online fax service or you can port your own number to these services. Contacting GFI Sales can offer assistance with any questions you may have about these numbers.
