Overview
The purpose of this article is to provide steps to take when you can no longer connect to your FaxMaker archive database after upgrading SQL.
Environment
Any FaxMaker installation using SQL as an archive database.
Solution
There could be several causes for this issue to happen, but the quickest solution is to create a new database and migrate the data from the old database to the new database and continue archiving to the new database.
First, use the Create a New SQL Database article to create the new database.
Once the database has been created, use the Migrating Archive Data Between Databases article to move the data from the old database to the new database.
Finally, use the Archiving Faxes to a Database article to ensure you are now archiving to the new database.
Confirmation
Upon completion of the steps above, FaxMaker will be archiving to the new archive database with all of the archive data in place.
