You have a FaxMaker server and a fax device and you need to know how many lines you will need to get the most use out of your FaxMaker installation and your fax device. This article explains the relation between fax lines in FaxMaker and channels in the fax device.
We will use an example to clarify the answer to this question. In this example, you have a FaxMaker license that allows you to create 4 lines and you have a fax device that provides 10 channels for faxing. In this scenario, although the fax device provides 10 channels, you need a fax line in FaxMaker for each channel in the fax device, you will only be able to send and receive on 4 of the fax channels in the fax device. To make full use of all of the channels the fax device provides, you would need to increase your FaxMaker licensing for fax lines from 4 to 10. This will be done through your reseller. Once the license has been updated and the new license is added to your FaxMaker installation, you can create the additional fax lines to make full use of the fax device's potential.
