Overview

The last line of your Brooktrout device is shown as Not Initialized in the FaxMaker Monitor.

This issue may have been observed after an upgrade.

The log file for the specific line (e.g. if Line 23 fails to initialize, that would be ltbtr23.log) shows the "Destination address not found or invalid" message:

Solution

1. Stop the GFI FaxMaker and Brooktrout services.
2. Backup the file C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker\brooktrout\TR1034\Boston\config\callctrl.cfg.
3. Open callctrl.cfg with a text editor and make sure the parameter channels=nn is adequate to the number of lines:
   1. For example, if you have 24 lines and the channels parameter is set to channels=23, modify it to channels=24.
   2. Save the file.
4. Start the Brooktrout service and then the FaxMaker services.
5. Check to ensure all of the lines are initialized.
