PROBLEM

GFI FaxMaker Client printer fails to install on Windows 7 x64.

ENVIRONMENT

• GFI FaxMaker Client
• Microsoft Windows 7, 64 bit

SOLUTION

1. Open the Windows service console
2. Go to Start > Run > type services.msc and press Enter
3. Stop the print spooler service
4. Navigate to ..\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker client folder
5. Copy the gfimntr_x64.dll file
6. Paste it in the \Windows\System32 directory
7. Start the print spooler service
8. Navigate to ...\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker client folder
9. Run the fmprinter_install.cmd

CAUSE

During the install or upgrade GFI FaxMaker fails to copy the gfimntr_x64.dll file into the \Windows\System32 directory.
