Changing the Sender Address of the GFI FaxMaker Welcome-Emails and Administrative Notifications

Overview

By default, the sender of GFI FaxMaker welcome emails and administrative notifications is <do_not_reply@faxmaker.com> and <admin@faxmaker.com>.
Some mail servers do not accept this and it may become necessary to amend the sender address. This article provides the steps to change the sender address of the GFI FaxMaker welcome emails and administrative notifications.

Important: This workaround is not officially supported. The settings may be overwritten with an update of GFI FaxMaker installation.

Process

Follow the steps below to change the sender email address manually in the notification template:

  1. Navigate to <..\Program Files (x86)\GFI\FaxMaker\data>
  2. Take a backup of the templates folder.
  3. The emails which can be modified within the templates folder are:
  • databaselimit_exceeded.eml
  • databaselimit_warning.eml
  • notification.eml
  • PasswordChanged.eml
  • ResetPasswordRq.eml
  • rpt_fax_usage.eml
  • rpt_sms_usage.eml
  • WelcomeAdmin.eml
  • WelcomeAdminAD.eml
  • WelcomeUser.eml
  • WelcomeUserAD.eml
  1. The email templates within the language folder, which applies to the current installation (de, es, it) have to be modified as well:
  • rpt_fax_usage.eml
  • rpt_sms_usage.eml
  • notification.eml
  1. Open the EML file with Notepad, and search for the line which starts with From:
  2. Replace do_not_reply@faxmaker.com (or admin@faxmaker.com) with your custom sender address. Do not alter any other parts of the template; only the From: section can be modified.
