Overview

This article addresses the question of what is required when the Faxmaker server needs to be moved to a new domain.  

Environment

Any FaxMaker installation in an Active Directory environment.

Solution

Migrating the FaxMaker server from one domain to another is not a supported operation due to how FaxMaker is tied with Active Directory.  Do the following to have a FaxMaker server in the new domain:

1. Create a new domain admin or account with permissions according to this article, service account for the FaxMaker services in the new domain.
2. Log in as the new service account created in step 1 and Install FaxMaker or migrate the settings. 
3. Finally, add the users from the new domain.    

Confirmation

After completing the steps above, FaxMaker will be installed in the new domain and communicating with Active Directory.
