Overview

This article addresses an issue where the fmserver service crashes when sending faxes to specific numbers using Brooktrout devices.

Solution

When this issue occurs, the faxserver log will stop, and you will see the restart taking place. In the Brooktrout logging, when viewing the fax that caused the crash, the log ends when the recipient sends the DIS. 

This behavior is caused by an issue in the logging module that affects versions older than 19.2.

Please upgrade your FaxMaker installation to the latest version.
