Outgoing faxes fail with a call duration of zero

Overview

You may be experiencing a large number of failed outgoing faxes.

They seem to happen in large batches and show a call_duration of 0 (zero).

This has been observed when using Brooktrout devices.

The situation with call duration 0 may be improved by:

Upgrading both FaxMaker and Brooktrout drivers.
In the faxMaker Configuration Tool, go to Line Options and set the Max. resolution to Fine (200x200) and the Max. speed to 14400 bps.

Note: In similar reported cases, the situation persisted because of upstream issues. Those would need to be verified by the telephony providers.
