'Failed to open key <Registry Key Value>' Error When Opening the FaxMaker Configuration

Overview

This article provides instructions when users receive the following error message when trying to open the FaxMaker Configuration:

Failed to open key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI FAX & VIOCE\FAXmaker\Config



Solution

The logged on user needs to have admin rights on the local machine.
Admin rights must be provided to the logged on user and the issue is resolved. 
This will be done in the local network's Active Directory settings.
