Overview
FaxMaker allows failed faxes to be resent and the number of retries and the amount of time between each retry to be configurable. This article provides more information about how these faxes are logged in the sendlog.fmlogger.txt.
Environment
All FaxMaker installations.
Information
If a fax fails and is retried and is successful, the sendlog.fmlogger.txt (default location C:\Program Files(x86)\GFI\FaxMaker\logs) will only show the successful fax in the log. It will show in the call duration, the total time for all of the faxes, failure(s) included.
If the retry settings are set for 3 retries at 5 minutes apart and a fax is sent to a busy number on all attempts, FaxMaker will make 4 attempts, the original attempt and 3 retries, and the sendlog will show one fax failure to that number due to busy tone. The time noted in the sendlog will be the time spent on the 4 attempts alone, it will not include the time waiting to attempt the retry.
While waiting to send the next attempt, the fax lines will be used for other faxes.
At this time, there are no alerts that are available to note if queued faxes are exceeding a certain number or if a specific fax has been in the queue for a long time.
Confirmation
After reviewing the information above, questions about how FaxMaker logs retried faxes will be clearly answered.
