Instructions

Verify Max resolution is 200x200

In the FaxMaker Configuration Tool, go to Lines/Devices and make sure the Max resolution is set to 200 x 200 (fine).

Try lower Max speed baud rates

In the FaxMaker Configuration Tool, go to Lines/Devices, change the Max speed to 9600 bps and observe if the transmission stability improves.

Ensure ECM is enabled

In the FaxMaker Configuration Tool, go to Lines/Devices and enable the use of ECM (error correction).

Set ced_timeout in btcall.cfg to 8000

Set ced_timeout in the btcall.cfg file to 8000, as described in the Faxes Failing When Using A Brooktrout Device article.

Disable line_compression and v34

Disable line_compression and v34, as described in Incoming faxes are randomly truncated.

Set Media Renegotiate Delay Outbound to 4000

Change the "Media Renegotiate Delay Outbound" setting in the Brooktrout config tool, from -1 to 4000.

Try increasing Max. speed

If the transmissions are stable, you can test with higher baud rates. In the FaxMaker Configuration Tool, go to Lines/Devices and change the Max speed to higher values. Observe the transmission to ensure there are no regressions.
