Overview
The purpose of this article is to provide information about changing user information in FaxMaker that is used in caller ID and fax and SMS headers.
Environment
Any FaxMaker installation.
Solution
Any information FaxMaker retrieves and uses during a fax or SMS message is obtained from the directory service, whether it be GFI Directory or Active Directory.
GFI Directory
When using GFI Directory, the user information can be edited in the FaxMaker Configuration in the Licensed Users node. Follow the steps below to edit the user details:
From Programs, open the FaxMaker Configuration.
Select the Licensed users' node on the left.
Right-click a user and select Properties.
Here you will be able to edit the user information, select OK when complete.
Active Directory
When using Active Directory, all of the information is stored in Active Directory and can only be edited there. You will need to be able to access Active Directory Users and Computers usually on a domain controller.
When you have access to the users in Active Directory, in the properties, you will be able to edit information on the following tabs:
- General
- Address
- Telephones
- Organization
Depending on the size of your Active Directory you may need to do a GPUpdate to get the information to replicate across the network. Please contact your IT group or Active Directory administrator for assistance with this.
Confirmation
After reviewing the information in this article, you will be able to edit any user information
