Overview
When a FaxMaker installation has exceeded the number of licensed users for which it is licensed you will have issues sending faxes, only when the service is restarted and a FaxMaker admin will receive an email stating: The FaxMaker fax server has entered standby mode because the number of licensed users/SMS users has exceeded the amount allowed. Please reduce the number of licensed users from the server configuration. This article provides the process to resolve this.
Solution
Diagnosis
When the number of users have been exceeded for the GFI FaxMaker license installed, faxing will stop (Outbound faxing will only take place when the services are restarted). Below is a sample of the report that will be deliverd to the administrator shortly after:
Solution Steps
The solution is to remove users from the Licensed users' list within the configuration or purchase a license with more users available.
Removing Licensed users is covered in the Licensing Users and Groups in FaxMaker article. If you are using Active Directory Groups in the FaxMaker Licensed users, you may need to remove users from the groups as shown in this Microsoft article.
If a new license is needed to include more Licensed users, your reseller will need to be contacted to purchase additional licensing. Once the new license has been acquired, use the Viewing and Applying your FaxMaker License Key article to apply the new license key to your FaxMaker installation.
Confirmation
